What a Pleasant Surprise

Today Kathleen, Courtney and I scoured the entire City of Rexburg to find a certain kind of Cinnamon Bears. We were successful at finding the cinnamon bears so we headed back home. My room mate Shae called asking where I was and I informed here I just walked through the door. She said Okay and then kinda hung up. I thought nothing of it.

Then there was a knock at the door. Hmmm, who could it be? I answered the door, saw who was standing there, processed the information and then yelled "TREVOR!" He came to visit me all the way in litle Rexburg. He was helping a friend car shop and one of the cars they looked at was in Idaho Falls, so he just came by to visit! It was such a nice surprise! This is why my room mate called me (to find out where I was). We sat and chatted for a bit, I offered some of my cinnamon bears, and we talked about how this summer is going to be AMAZING.

I love my big brother.

Doesn't he look good in a suit and tie? I think so.

Curtie Burt

This is Curtis. I like to call him Curtie Burt. He is the fourth of the six McKendrick children. Today is his birthday and he turned 16! This is a big deal in Mormon lives because it means you can start dating!!! I better be hearing about all of his hott dates in the near future.

Curtie Burt is such an amazing brother and person. Not only is he tan, smart, in shape from all that swimming, sweet, funny, and a walking encyclopedia he is also humble about it all. He is a boy of many talents and I love being his big sister.

He is currently a sophomore in high school where he plays the violin, water polo, and swims competitively. He's amazing.

I love you Curtie, and I hope your birthday was everything you wished it would be.

Passing Test Scores

Let me fill you in on the process of taking at test at BYU-Idaho. You study for hours on end, then once you finally feel confident enough to take the test you head over to the testing center. In order to get to the testing center you must walk up a huge flight of stairs. Once you are there the employee scans your ID card, hands you your test, and a scantron sheet. Then you walk into a large silent room full of fellow peers taking all sorts of tests.

Once I get into that large room I pick a seat, say a quick prayer, and then proceed to bubble in A, B, C, or D. Once you have filled in all the bubbles (hopefully with the correct answers) I then exit the big silent room, hand my test and scantron to another employee and then wait to see my score on the TV just outside the door.

My test scores used to be fantastic, but once the nursing program started I just couldn't seem to catch a break. UNTIL NOW! My last, but not least, nursing class is on cardiac and I really like it. I find the material fun to study and I understand it, which has made my test scores shoot up! I took my fourth test for this class today and I was so happy with my score I had to get a picture.

I didn't get the perfect score of 100%, but I was still jumping for joy! A good score makes the rest of my day wonderful. Hopefully I will be jumping for joy after my exit exam...

Seeing Friends On Campus

As I was buying a bagel and yogurt parfait at the Crossroads this afternoon one of my dear friends Kathleen was walking by. I called her over and bought her a bagel as well. We then sat down to enjoy a nice conversation about boys, future employment, school, finals, and everything we have to get done before finals. She is such a sweetie.

When we were just finishing our bagels Jennifer, my best friend growing up, comes from behind and surprises me! She was just heading to take a test when she noticed kathleen and me. So we all chatted for a few minutes and then walk to the Clark building together.

Courtney and I have discussed often how the best days are the days when you see people you know. You can never see a friend and not smile we've decided. I love seeing my friends on campus.

Board Games

I don't remember my dad taking this picture. I'm glad he did though. This was during our vacation in Hawaii- April 2009. We were all about to head out to the beach but instead we gathered to play a quick game of Sorry! I don't remember who won but I do remember enjoying the time with all of my brothers and sister. I wouldn't trade them for the world, and I'm glad something as simple as a board game could bring us this close. Even if it was just a half hour.

Nicholas Sparks

Call me a hopeless romantic, but I love books written by Nicholas Sparks. He fulfills my every girlish need. At the moment I'm reading The Choice and it just got interesting! Gabby the heroine has a very cute neighbor and they are destined to be together, however Gabby has a boyfriend who will be in town in just a few short days. I can't wait to read about what happens next.
Just a few books written by the fabulous Nicholas Sparks that I've read

Little Notes

Today was such an incredible day. I was able to sleep in, pass my nursing test, talk with the bishop (it was a good "talk", I'm not in trouble), watch a basket ball game, talk to my sister and big brother, play rock band at a a guy's apartment, and do laundry! Oh, and of course I got studying done as well. However the best part of my day was coming home to this...

Courtney, my room mate and best friend up her at school, left this little note on my pillow. It reads, "Annie, Hope you had a fun night w/ Kurtis! Come wake me if anything BIG happened (I.E. hand holding, kissing, etc) otherwise it can wait until morning : ) Thanks for the chocolates! You really are a great friend and I really am gonna miss you next semester! Night! Love ya, Court." It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Everything Comes to an End

I have been inspired by many friends to write a blog. One blog that has particularly inspired me is by Polly Dove. I love how she writes about the little blessings in her life, and how they all add up to make her life wonderful. Lately I have been Ms. Grumpy Grumps and have been thinking quite negatively, so I thought why not make a blog like hers. One where I can write about the little things I'm grateful for.

So after much thought the first thing to be thankful for is... I'm so close to being finished with nursing school!

I graduate April 10, 2010 with an Assosicates of Science in Nursing, and begin my Bachelors in the fall. While in the program I have learned so much, helped people in times of need, and made great friends but It's also been an emotional roller coaster. So I am grateful it is almost over.
